Stating that they are focused on improving the protection of the vaccine against the Omicron variant of the Corona virus, Pfizer CEO Bourla said, “We will have an effective vaccine in 3 months.”

The CEO of the US pharmaceutical company Pfizer, Dr. Albert Bourla commented that Covid-19 will continue to exist for many years, but the current Omicron variant wave may be the last wave to be so restricted.

In an interview with French television BFMTV, Bourla evaluated whether the current wave of Covid-19 will be the last wave.

Emphasizing that the virus will continue to circulate for years, Bourla said, “Because it has spread all over the world, it will not be easy to get rid of.”

Pfizer Is Developing An Effective Vaccine Against Omicron

Albert Bourla said, “With the tools developed by science, I believe that this wave may be the last wave in which such restrictions were applied.”

Stating that the first variant to pass the protection of the vaccine they developed was Omicron, Bourla stated that they focused on improving the protection of the vaccine against it.

“In a very short time, in 3 months, we will have an effective vaccine,” said Bourla.

On the other hand, in the statement made by Pfizer, it was stated that Paxlovid, the drug developed by the company against Covid-19, will be produced in France.

In the statement, it was stated that 520 million euros will be invested for 5 years for this purpose.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA), the drug regulator of the European Union (EU), announced on December 16 that the anti-viral Paxlovid could be used in the treatment of Covid-19.
